Adventures in Ferritia
Kelbridge is one of the two major cities in Ferritia, along with Amunara. Kelbridge was of course named for the river that it spans across, several miles on each side. However, with the advent of CT Industries, and the resulting automatons, something strange happened to Kelbridge. The city began to split, almost straight down the center, on either side of the river.
The people to the North of Kelban River renamed the area “Arclight District”, and readily accepted Claptrap’s new mechanations, and have many of the richer folk have integrated the automatons into their daily life, serving as manservants and maids.
The people to the South of Kelban River, in response to the rise of the “Arclight District”, renamed their area to “Gaslamp District”. This district still cling tightly to the traditions of old, and the standard practice of arcane and divine magicks. They believe the new automatons to be abominations, and unnatural to the world. Many of the more adept wizards and sorcerors in Gaslamp have even gone so far as to set up a barrier around the city, effectively shutting down any automatons that may attempt to enter the district.
This all changed, however, with the largest leaflet campaign in the History of Ferritia. A band of political idealists, known only as “The Opposers” headed up a campaign to bring to light the crimes against humanity being committed by Baron Von Claptrap. After a harsh and bloody 2 weeks full of riots and protest songs, there was a grand trial, in which The Opposers were brought to bear in front of the King of Kelbridge, along with Claptrap and his automatons. After a short debate, Claptrap attempted to flee the city and killed many bystanders. The King himself grappled the Baron after one of Claptrap’s automatons viciously slayed the Queen. The life of the evil Baron was ended swiftly by the arrows of a mysterious scaled member of The Opposers.
After this bloody battle, the city was wiped clean of all of the automatons, although some people still cling to these old ways, including many in Lochwald…
Outside of the straight up dividing of the city and more recent events, Kelbridge is (for all intent and purpose) a normal city. Each district has its share of nobles and peasants, and there is a King that rules both districts combined, and had been struggling until the death of Claptrap to keep either side from revolting, while still staying neutral to the situation. Now, with his Queen newly resurrected by the Clerics of Kelbridge, he seeks to restore order, and to rebuild the decimated castle.
